Owen Lourie from the Maryland State Archives, chronicles the Maryland 400, the soldiers from Maryland, including some from Cecil County, who saved George Washington's army at the Battle of Brooklyn in August 1776. This program was in conjunction with “The Many Faces of George Washington,” a national traveling panel exhibition produced by the Mount Vernon’s Ladies’ Association in conjunction with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and was supported by a generous grant from the F.M. Kirby Foundation. Special thanks to our publicity partners, Elk Landing, Mount Harmon and the Historical Society of Cecil County.
